Through a series of 6 weekly workshops, led by experts, beneficiaries built confidence and skills in cooking, nutrition and physical exercise. Attendees crucially accessed an accountability group that offered the peer network and space to explore setting and evaluating goals, peer to peer support and created social ties on their new pursuit of wellbeing and boosted their confidence to speak up about the importance of health and wellbeing within their communities. The programme empowered participants to feel that they deserve to invest in their health and wellbeing, and that it positively impacted other areas of their personal, social and professional lives.
